Thirteen teams from around the country came to Stanford to play in Cardinal Classic XVII. Congratulations to Maryland, who won the round-robin tournament, compiling an 11-1 record. Maryland, comprising Jonathan, Charles, Chris, and Mike, lost only to Chicago Kannan. Three teams had a 10-2 record: the Daniel Orifice Fitting Company (from Chicago), Yaphe, and Brown. Susan from Chicago Kannan barely edged out Mike from Illinois A for the neg prize with 22 negs; Mike had 21.
